I'm sitting here at the cottage, being entertained by Oscar de
la
Munchkin. Oscar is almost a year old, and I fell in love with him
when he was only seven weeks old. I saw his photo on Bonnie's
website, and named him before I had even met him.
My husband Dan and I lost our two seal-tortie girls in 2003 and 2004.
Gizmo was 17-1/2 and Mya was 19-1/2, and we were just devastated
without them. I had talked to Bonnie and looked at her website, and
was very impressed by her knowledge and her attitude to her animals.
She was so helpful and patient, and always had time for questions.
When we were ready to start thinking about getting another "baby," I
went straight to Bonnie's website and found Oscar. He wasn't ready to
leave his mother, but Bonnie let me visit him regularly so that we
could get to know each other. I also got to meet all of Bonnie's
other wonderful cats and got a sense of how well-adjusted and content
they all were. Fell in love with a few along the way!
We brought Oscar home just before Christmas 2004. I have always been
blessed with wonderful cats, but Oscar is really special. He's
incredibly playful, affectionate, smart and people-oriented. He's the
most well-adjusted cat I've ever had -- nothing fazes him! Thirty
seconds after getting a shot at the vet, he's purring and playing. He
loves meeting new people -- even young children. He loves riding in
the car -- he spends most of the trip to the cottage fast asleep in
my lap, purring away.
Oscar's no accident. He's a perfect example of the way Bonnie pays
such close attention to her cats and to her breeding program. Her
cats are all incredibly beautiful, but she's more concerned about
breeding cats with great temperaments. She really knows her stuff,
and she has infinite patience for the owners and all their questions.
We're not sure if we are going to get another cat at this point -- we
are enjoying spoiling, and being spoiled by, Oscar -- but I would
never buy a cat from anyone but Bonnie. She's the best!
