To whom it may concern:
Exactly what do you look for when searching for a new pet cat? How do you judge a breeder? Both answers are found once you meet Bonnie and interact with her babies. Each cat is a friend to her and she knows all their habits. What a marvelous thing to have a breeder answer all you questions; not only during the purchase but also after you have brought your choice home.
My Himalayan died in October and within weeks I knew that I was too lonely without a cat in the house, especially living alone. I also thought it was going to be quite a job finding a new cat. Blue (cat who died) was adopted from the humane society so I received no answers from her previous owner on any habits she may or may not have. It was very traumatic as she never meowed for over a year leaving me to think she had vocal problems and you can imagine my joy the first time I heard hew sweet meow. I knew I wanted the same type of cat but I wanted a breeder who could give me information as needed and I did not want a pet shop.
I started surfing the internet looking for breeders and in my area or within say 200 miles. Eventually I found Bonnies'site and was quite impressed by the description of her cats, the layout of her site and all the information given. I enjoyed reading the whole site for it covered things from a new kitten to a retired breeding cat. Now I was interested and sent my first email to Bonnie explaining I had lost my Blue and was searching for a new pet. She questioned what I was looking for - this made it easier to match me and the cat I think as she did match us perfectly in the end. It was a few emails back and forth as I was not too close and had no car to get there but I did have an appointment coming up and would be in the area. We decided on the date and time to visit and I believe I had narrowed it down to 5 that I was interested in. Bonnie suggested what she thought I was looking for and I said I would look at them and a few others. I couldn't wait to get there and I must have visited her online site daily to look at them.
The day arrived and I was so excited. I put 2 carriers in the car and my daughter drove me there. Wow!! I was in cat heaven seeing these beautiful babies all around. Himalayans and Persians roamed about the kitchen. Bonnie seemed to quickly understand what I would like and mentioned the two she thought from what I had said I wanted and it turned out she was right for after viewing them I came back to a gorgeous Himalayan and a big Persian. Oh I felt like a kid in a candy store. Bonnie drew up the contracts and told me about their food and how they might react for a few days and even gave me a tip about placing the carriers for the ride home.
Now you might think this is normal for a breeder, I felt she had gone beyond the regular every day type. The fun was just starting with me. I emailed questions on a daily basis and she took the time to write a detailed answer when she realized I was the type who wanted to learn. I had never had a Persian and I found the character different from the Himalayan - more cuddly, at least with my pair. If you buy from Bonnie you are involved with a friend who goes out of her way to explain, offer advice and always friendly and punctual. If you send a question it will be answered that day not 3 or 4 days later. She explained how to clean eyes with me and how to clip their claws. I am sure a whole lot more from October to now. She is professional and knowledgeable about the breeds and the best way to do things with them. She does not write you off after buying but continues to there for you which to me is a real gift to a new owner of 2 adult cats. She is so good in follow up after purchase that I am going back on December 20th to buy another cat. That shows that I am not only impressed with her but absolutely in love with her cats....my two cats have characters you wish for but never find. I found them with Bonnies'cats.
If you wish to contact me to answer further questions please email me at the following brenda.bhog@sympatico.ca. Remember that once you have one of her cats; chances are you might want a second one.....they are people oriented cats and that is thanks to Bonnies'style of raising them and her care. Her cats have wonderful personalities, properly fed which you see in their body type with good food not junk, relaxed too - not jumpy like I have seen with people who buy from a poor source. Bonnies'line of breeding is awesome as I have been learning more about this through research. Colors are wonderful, eyes beautiful and nothing is better than a cat purring to a stranger....you know they have come from a loving home.
