I came to know of Bonnie McNamara's Shaded Tails Himalayan Cattery in
2000, when we were considering adopting an Himalayan cat. Bonnie and I
exchanged e-mail messages over several months; I was very impressed
with the fact that Bonnie always took the time to answer all my
questions, and offer advice. I visited the Shaded Tails website often
in order see the new kittens and admire all those beautiful adult
Himalayans.

In February 2001 Bonnie was putting a young Seal Point male named The
Lone Ranger up for adoption and she e-mailed me right away, thinking we
might like to see him - she said he's a pretty special boy! We soon
visited Shaded Tails to meet Bonnie, see her cattery (and the Shaded
Tails Alpacas too!), and meet this remarkable cat named Ranger in
person. The rest is history - Ranger came home with us that very day.
Ranger is a big, beautiful, very affectionate and easy-going boy.
Ranger has an absolutely enormous coat, very luxurious and voluminous.
Fortunately he loves being groomed, which makes taking care of his huge
coat a snap. When it's time for grooming, he jumps up on the table and
gets impatient if you don't get there quick enough with the comb and
brush! He always stretches out on his back at right your feet so you
can give him belly rubs without having to reach too far.

In 2003 we adopted a young female named Party Favour from Bonnie.
Favour is a stunning Seal Tortie-Point; I had been admiring the photo
of her on Bonnie’s Shaded Tails website for ages. Making the decision
to adopt her was easy! When Favour arrived at her new home, I thought
it could take a while for her to become accustomed to her new family,
Ranger, and her new surroundings. We were prepared for a slow and
careful integration. Well – less than one week after she arrived,
Favour had settled in so well we couldn’t believe it. She hit it off
with Ranger immediately. Favour has a terrific personality, and really
loves to play. She knows when you're opening the toy basket and gets
there lickety-split to help you decide what toys to take out.

When I visited Shaded Tails to adopt Favour, one of the young females
in Bonnie's Shaded Tails breeding program, Silky, caught my eye and
captured my heart. Silky is an openly sweet and adorable Blue-Cream
with big blue eyes that just make you melt. I told myself that if Silky
ever went up for adoption, that I would offer her a home. And that's
just what I did, in November 2005. No more than twenty-four hours after
we brought Silky home, she was happily exploring, and easily making
friends with Ranger and Favour. Silky loves attention, really enjoys
being groomed and spending time in your lap, and is very generous with
her purrs! Silky and Favour play together all the time, and can be such
a comical duo that it brings tears to your eyes. All the merrier when
Ranger decides to join in to make it a playtime trio!

Now... why are Ranger, Favour, and Silky so terrific? That's easy -
because Bonnie raised them, that's why! At Shaded Tails, Bonnie
provides a really great home environment for the Himalayans she raises.
All of the cats at Shaded Tails get plenty of care, love, and proper
veterinary attention from day one. Take it from me, Bonnie is doing
everything right at Shaded Tails - and our three wonderful Himalayan
cats are shining examples of this. Life with Ranger, Favour, and Silky
is wonderful.

I could go on and on (and on!) but I know you didn't come to the Shaded
Tails website to learn only about our Ranger, Favour, and Silky – you
are considering adopting an Himalayan cat of your own. If you know that
this kind of feline is right for you, and you can give them the love,
care, and grooming they need, look no further than Bonnie McNamara’s
Shaded Tails Himalayan Cattery.
